Pickled Pigs feet are the common recipe of Southern United States, Mexican and Scandinavian Cuisine. Domestic Pigs feet are cut and traditional way salted and smoked like bacon and hams. This is processed and preserved like vegetable pickles by saturating with hot vinegar brine. This Home canned food may be preserved without refridgeration for longer time.

Pickled Pigs Feet Ingredients

  • 2 fresh chili peppers
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 lb pigs feet
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp mustard seed, yellow
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp ground sage
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, yellow
  • 1 bay leaf, crumbled
  • 1 clove cloves
  • 1 clove garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 water

Directions

  1. Take fresh pigs feet and look for any hair and burn it off. Split the foot lengthwise and with hooves remove, and wash them well.
  2. Put the pigs feet in a stainless steel vessel and cover it with water. Add bay leaf, salt, mustard seed, turmeric, onion powder, and sage
  3. Add clove of garlic, clove, yellow mustard seed, onion powder, bay leaf crumbled and turmeric.
  4. Boil pig feet 2 hours or until tender. Rinse feet in hot water to remove excess fat and water.
  5. Simmer for 1 and a half hour. Skim top for foam .
  6. Remove as many bones as you can and cut it into small serving bites.
  7. Heat a pint of Vinegar with water separately and pour it in the jar until it covers the pieces. Seal with Lid and keep in the refridgerator.

Optionally you can add Carrots, Celery, Colored Bell peppers and Vegetable oils
