The origin of the Spam Tacos dish is Mexico. It is a traditional dish consists of small hand-sized wheat or corn tortilla with a filing. There is a huge variety in filling used for Tacos like vegetables, beef, chicken, pork, seafood, and cheese. Tacos are often garnished with different spices such as salsa, guacamole, or sour cream, and vegetables, such as lettuce, onion, tomatoes, and chilies.
Ingredients:
- 1 (12 ounce) can lite luncheon meat (such as Spam®)
- cooking spray
- ½ (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix, or more to taste
- 2 tablespoons water, or more as needed
- 8 (6 inch) flour tortillas
- 8 ounces shredded lettuce
- 8 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 (2.25 ounce) cans sliced olives, drained
- 1 small tomato, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
Making of Spam Tacos
- Shred the luncheon meat in a bowl and keep it a side.
- Take a cooking pan and spray with oil. Heat on a medium to high flame.
- Now add shredded luncheon meat and cook for about 5 minutes or until brown.
- Now add taco seasoning and water. Mix it well for 5-7 minutes until luncheon meat evenly coated with the mixture. Reduce heat to low.
- Now take another frying pan, add some oil and heat over medium-high flame.
- Place a single tortilla and cook for 30-second each side until heated through on both the sides. Repeat with all the required tortillas.
- Top hot tortilla with luncheon meat, cheese, onion, olives and tomatoes.
Note:
- You can use microwave to heat tortillas instead of frying pan.
