Slumgullion is a hot, savory, and hearty stew of beef, vegetables, potatoes, etc.  Combined with macaroni and tomato making a great flavor .

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 (4.5 ounce) cans mushrooms, drained
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions for making Slumgullion

  1. Bring a large pot boil salted water and add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until  firm to the bite; drain and place in large saucepan.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, add beef and cook in medium heat. Just befor turning brown beef stir in onion and saute till beef is brown.
  3. Add beef mixture to pasta, and stir in tomato sauce, mushrooms, garlic, salt, pepper and stewed tomatoes. Cook over low heat, 10 to 15 minutes, or until heated through.
